Students raising hands
How do I apply to Ontario universities? +
Via OUAC: 101 if you're in Ontario high school, 105 otherwise. Deadline Jan 15, 2026 for most programs. You'll need ENG4U + prerequisites, grades 80-95% depending on program. Colleges use OCAS, deadline Feb 1.
What is OSAP and how much can I get? +
Ontario Student Assistance Program for Ontario residents. Full-time students can get up to ~$14,000/year (mix of grants you keep + loans). Amount depends on parental income, tuition and living away from home.
Can international students work and stay? +
Yes: work 24h/week off-campus during studies, full-time on breaks, plus 3-year PGWP after eligible programs. Ontario PNP and Express Entry favour Ontario grads in tech, health and trades.
Toronto or cheaper city? +
Toronto = max jobs & networking but $22k+/yr living. Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Kitchener save 25-35% and still offer top schools + co-op. Many commute via GO Train.
College or university — what's better? +
Neither is better — different goals. University for theory, research, med/law. College for hands-on, 2-3 years, faster employment and lower cost. 2+2 transfer pathways let you do both.
